Before you buy kittens, see their pictures at the breeders.
The Manx syndrome is very dangerous. The gene that causes taillessness may be lethal or causing serious spine defects, such as gaps between the vertebrae, fused vertebrae, etc. There may be no problems at birth, but at the age of several weeks and even months the defects may show up.

Even with very reputable breeders cats are not guaranteed against the Manx syndrome, but there are methods to avoid some problems. Tailless cats should not be bred for several generations, as with every such mating the chances of the Manx syndrome grow considerably. Cats with tails should necessarily participate in mating.
