It is very difficult to produce tailless kittens of this breed, as the gene that causes taillessness may go too far in shortening the spine and cause severe defects. If tailless animals are bred for three generation, it is lethal for the offspring. Cats manx should be obtained from a good breeder, but choose a kitten very carefully.
