Not all Manx kittens are born tailless; about 50% of them have tails of various lengths from 5 cm to the full length. Breeders usually dock the tails of Manx cats not for cheating the buyers, but for the cat’s sake, as tails may become ossified and arthritic in adults due to the taillessness hene.
